Buy the shorts!
Wore for the first time for a half marathon race (big risky)… but these are perfect. They don’t move at all, no chaffing in sight, supper comfy, squat proof, true to size, and the pockets! All three pockets fit a IPhone 15 Pro Max, and plenty of room for whatever else you need on the go. The price makes me want to cry a little though, so 4.9* it is.

Bring Back Method Shorts!
I LOVED the Method 8” shorts. I have tons of them – they are my go to for races and long runs, and pretty much everything in between. The waistband on these shorts is horrid. The thin band at the top cuts into your waist, the pockets are narrow, and the compression isn’t the same. Bring back the method!!

Very comfy shorts, good for long runs
These are my favourite shorts to run in. They are comfortable and don't ride up. The pockets are wide enough to fit my phone in and it gives me confidence that my keys and phone are secure. I ran an ultra marathon (40 miles) in these and I had no problems. I tried and tested a few brands before I found these shorts (others rub or ride up). I would definitely recommend and I'll be buying another pair.

Fall marathon
It is all about the pockets! I ran in these shorts for fall marathon. The longer length is nice on my 60 year old legs. The pocket in the back waistband is perfect for your phone. Sometimes Brooks run big, but these were true to size. Amble room for nutrition.

Great running short
Bought this 8” short after loving the 5” but wanting a longer option - the pockets are amazing, and the shorts never budge or ride up, even after 20 miles. The screenprinted logo is peeling off after just a few washes, and I wish this short came in a 6” or 7” middle option, but overall fantastic gear.

Good Shorts
Nice comfortable, fabric. Pockets good for keys, gels, etc. Would be better if pockets closed securely (Velcro, zipper?). Waist has drawstring - would be better if it could be tightened on the outside to avoid chafing. Sizing seems OK. Med. for 5’2”, 125 lbs.

Great shorts, takes some time to get right size
The shorts are really nice, but I'm giving it four stars due to sizing issues noted throughout the comments - hopefully I can help someone pick the correct size. I'm 5'6" and 140 lb. Due to the suggestion to size up and the online tool for choosing a size, I ordered a large. Upon trying it on, it felt too big since I was used to more compression. I ordered a medium with the intent of returning the large. The medium felt more like what I thought I was seeking, so I used it for a few runs. However, as others have noted something is odd with the waistband which was causing me stomach pain after the run. I tried out the large again, and while it still felt too big when trying on, it felt great on the run. I'm sticking with the large. As others have noted, it's nice to have all the pockets and the material is really soft and comfortable.

I ordered the Spark 8 inch since the Method is no longer offered.
The side pockets are more narrow than the Method, which made it more difficult to store my phone there. Otherwise, the shorts are very good, I wore during a marathon and had no issues with them riding up or causing chafing. I would give them a five if the pocket was made a little wider for cell phone. I am in between a medium and a large size, I bought them in a large, they did not feel tight at all.

Almost perfect
It’s so hard to find shorts like these with a waist pocket where I can put my phone, so I was excited to try these. They’re very comfortable, just snug enough to hold everything in without digging into my legs or stomach. I have a somewhat short torso, so I also like that the waist is high enough for tummy control without basically reaching my chest. I think they run a bit large; I’m a curvy 190 lbs, 5’4, and I had to exchange the XL for L. I’m detracting 1 star because the length is not as long as I’d prefer - more like 7 inches not 8 - but otherwise I’m satisfied with these.
