Future Run Team Grants

High school cross country and track & field teams are often young people’s introduction to running. Whether they’re taking their very first strides or aiming for a team championship, we’re here to support them.

What are Team Grants?

Previously known as the Brooks Booster Club, Future Run Team Grants help ensure that all athletes arrive at the starting line with great gear. Future Run Team Grants support underserved high school cross country and track programs with performance running gear and financial assistance. Grants are awarded twice a year prior to cross country and track & field seasons.

Within the US, over one million young runners take part in cross country and track & field.

Future Run Team Grants impact thousands of athletes within that group.

Since 2015, Future Run Team Grants have supported over 200 schools.

Future Run Team Grants have reached over 6,500 young athletes.

So far, the program has delivered over two million dollars of cash and gear.

FAQ

Do you have to be a high school coach or athletic director to nominate a team?

Yes. We require a coach or athletic director because we need accountability for the team’s current financial situation.

Does the team need to be at the high school level?

Yes. While we know there are underserved programs at all levels, this program specifically meets the needs of high school runners.

What do the recipients receive?

Grant recipients receive shoes and apparel for up to 50 runners per team. Each team also receives $1,000 to help with expenses, including pay-to-play fees, meet entries, transportation costs, etc.

What if my team has more than 50 athletes?

For the gear portion of each grant, each team receives up to $17,000 MSRP in gear. For a team up to 50 athletes, this includes a pair of shoes plus apparel per athlete. If a team has more than 50 athletes, it’s up to the coach's discretion to re-allocate the gear budget accordingly.

What other eligibility requirements do you have?

Brooks’ Team Grants program supports underserved high school track and cross country programs in schools where 40% or more of the students qualify for free and reduced-price lunches. We prioritize teams that have a diverse representation of race and gender to work towards a future running community that reflects the diversity of the U.S.

I applied this year; can I apply next year?

Teams are welcome to apply year after year. If you have received a Team Grant in the past, Brooks may contact you to determine how many new athletes have joined your program since your previous award.
