To keep your Brooks gear looking and performing its best, machine wash separately before wearing, try not to use fabric softeners and tumble dry on low heat.
What truly stands out is the thoughtful design, with several pockets placed both front and back. These pockets are incredibly convenient for storing essentials like gels, keys, or a phone, ensuring that you can keep your hands free and still have easy access to your items. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference in the overall experience.
As for sizing, these shorts fit as expected, offering a true-to-size fit that’s neither too tight nor too loose. The waist is secure without feeling constrictive, and the overall cut provides a flattering yet comfortable fit. After several washes, they retain their shape and color, making them easy to care for and durable.
Overall, the Brooks Men’s Journey 7" Running Shorts combine top-notch comfort, flexibility, and practicality, making them a must-have for runners who value both performance and convenience.
The liner is supportive but not too tight and very comfortable for running movements. I also love the multiple side pockets for keys or other accessories that hold items in place but allow for quick access.
The back zipper pocket is just big enough for my Pixel with a case and ensures it doesn't jostle or fall out when running. The shorts are also secure enough to not fall down even with a heavier phone in the zipper pocket.
The shorts are stylish, breathable, and the materials all have held up well after a few uses and washes. The fabric feels like higher quality compared to my other running shorts I have in rotation.
Overall, these shorts have been awesome for my exercise routine and hectic life.
The shorts run slightly big, but the strong inner drawstring keeps them snug on my waist. The interior liner is super comfortable and supportive without feeling too tight, even when I wear boxers instead of boxer briefs. I barely notice them while running, which shows how well-made they are. The elastic waistband is snug but not restrictive, and it stays in place even if I forget to tie the string. The 7" length is just right—not too short—and the design holds up well after washing and drying.
The fabric is perfect for anyone who sweats a lot. It wicks moisture away really well, so I don’t get that uncomfortable damp feeling. I love how comfortable they are, even when I’m just wearing boxers. They’re versatile enough to wear for running short and medium distances and then run errands afterward without feeling out of place.
The pockets are great, especially the back pocket, which easily fits my large phone. It’s a nice bonus that I can carry my phone comfortably without needing an armband.
The shorts were a good size for running with adequate length and good moisture wicking material. They have internal underwear, but they could be worn over boxer briefs and still feel fine. They generally were still dry after a run other than the waist band.
The shorts were great from a design for technology while running perspective. They are well designed running shorts, but would not be great shorts for casual wear since there are no front pockets. They also are a little short for casual wear.
I really liked that the shorts had a good dry fit material to keep you dry and cool during a run. The multiple phone pouches were also a great addition. I question how long the pouch elastic will last, but that will take time to evaluate.
The only complaint I would have is that the shorts material was wrinkly. Out of the box they were wrinkly, and that hasn’t gone away yet after several runs. I’ll have to wash them to see if that smoothes them out. I suspect it will based upon other similar materials I’ve had in clothing. All in all these are great shorts and I’m glad to have a pair of them to run in.
They're lightweight and breathable and dry quickly which is great for longer training runs.
The fabric is lightweight and breathable, ensuring comfort during both short runs and extended training sessions. The inner brief lining provides additional support without cutting in or riding up. The material wicks away moisture effectively, helping to keep you dry and feeling good.
One of the standout features is the pockets—there are three back pockets which provide plenty of space to carry essentials like keys, a phone and even a snack. The zippered pocket is particularly useful for securing valuables, which is a great addition for runners on the go.
The material has excellent stretch and doesn’t restrict movement, making it not only super comfortable but also great for various activities beyond running, such as gym workouts or casual wear.
The quality of the material and stitching is impressive, withstanding frequent washes without signs of wear. These shorts are built to last, even with heavy use.
The Brooks Men’s Journey 7” Running Shorts are a solid choice for runners seeking comfort, durability, and utility. Whether you’re training for a marathon or enjoying a casual jog, these shorts won’t disappoint. Highly recommended for those who value practicality and style in their running gear.
I personally really do prefer 7” inseam length shorts for the my comfort, and the length on these are perfect!
From what I can tell so far with these shorts, the liner material used does well in moisture wicking to help keep dry during sweating!
Last, a note on luxury! So many pockets and opportunities for storage in these shorts! I’m counting multiple stash pockets, a zippered back pocket, and even a pocket for your key to keep with you while running!
Quality product and I would recommend to all runners!
