Can the glycerine 20 sneakers go in washing machine?

Hi Johanna. We recommend avoiding washing machines and (especially) dryers, but you can hand wash your shoes. Here are some tips as well as a link to an article that goes in greater depth: 1. Brush the bottom of your shoes to remove as much mud and dirt as possible. 2. Remove the shoelaces. 3. Gently use a damp cloth or brush to clean the uppers. 4. Rinse with warm water. 5. Remove the insoles and clean and dry them separately. 6. Stuff your shoes with newspaper. This helps them maintain shape and decreases drying time. what is the difference in glycerin gts 20 and glycerin 20 ?

Hi G A! The main difference between the two is the Glycerin GTS has GuideRails - designed for runners that experience calcaneal deviation or roll in as they walk or run, while the Glycerin 20 is designed without GuideRails for runners that have a neutral or supinated stride.

Why do my shoes make noises when I walk?

Thank you for reaching out to Brooks Running. We can understand how squeaky shoes could distract from a great run! In most cases, the cause of squeaky shoes is due to air and/or moisture trapped under the insoles (or orthotics) within your shoes. First, we recommend removing the insoles and taking a few steps. If there is no squeak, it is most likely due to contact between the insole and the shoe itself. The good news is we have a simple solution for this! We recommend removing the insoles after each wear to allow both the insoles and the shoes to dry from any sweat or water build-up. If you still experience squeaking, then adding a bit of talcum powder under the insoles can be a great solution. If these solutions do not work, please follow up with us so we can ensure you can run happy!

Do any of the tennis shoes ever come in narrow it’s so hard finding narrow shoes for my feet. I have a 4A so at least a 2A would be an improvement is this an option?

What is the difference between Al of the glycerins?

Hi Erin! There are four versions of the Glycerin 20, as there is a choice between Classic and StealthFit and a choice between Neutral or GTS. The Classic and StealthFit versions will refer to how the upper material fits. The StealthFit will have more of a socklike feel with less adjustability in the lacing, while the Classic is more of that traditional athletic shoe fit. Neutral and GTS refer to the support in the shoe. The GTS version has our GuideRail support system, which is intended to help support runners who overpronate (feet/ankles roll inward). We recommend the neutral model if you do not overpronate.

When will you offer a new color in ? My foot tends to run narrow although I rarely need to buy a narrow. These were too wide in regular, so I bought them in narrow. They fit great and love them. I would like another pair, in a different color.

Hi Krystal! The upper material of the Glycerin 20 is a breathable mesh, so it will allow water to soak in though it will dry quickly. We recommend checking out the Ghost 14 GTX for a waterproof road model.

I have a very narrow foot, and I’ve noticed with most narrows lately that it’s simply a narrow upper on the same lower. Does Brooks make a shoe where the lower is actually narrower too?

Hi Judith! The footbed in all our narrow width models will be the same as the footbed in our medium width models, however the upper material will be closer to the foot in the narrow width.

Why the color selection for glycerin women wide D are so limited? We (with wide feet) also like to buy cute colors you offer to people with regular width feet. Do you assume we are just so boring stuck with just dark blue and blacks?

If I’m a size 9 medium in Glycerin 20 what would I be in Men’s size for the Glycerin 20?

Hi Magda! The conversion in sizing for length is 1.5 sizes. We recommend going by the description of the width (i.e. narrow, medium, wide, extra-wide) as opposed to the letter designation (i.e. 2A, B, D, 2E, 4E) when converting between men's and women's sizing. A men's medium (D) width should fit the same as a women's medium (B) width. A women's size 9 medium (B) would be equivalent to a men's 7.5 medium (D).

are these water proof?

Hi Magali! The Glycerin 20 is not a waterproof shoe. We have two waterproof models, which feature GORE-TEX technology - the Ghost 14 GTX and the Cascadia 16 GTX.

Hi Liz! The laces for the Glycerin 20 will vary in length depending on the size of the shoes. The women's Glycerin 20 features laces that measure approximately 44 to 48 inches.

What brooks shoe will fit and feel the closet to the glycerin 18? I’m on my 3rd pair and can’t find them anymore. The 19s toe box was too small, the 20s were too narrow at the sides. Thanks for any help!

In the 19s I went up a half size as they were running small. Should I do the same for the 20s?

Hi Melissa! The Glycerin 20 fits more true to size. We recommend going back to your typical size compared to going up half a size in the Glycerin 19.
