These breakaway shorts are great for running. Instead of shorts or pants sticking and chafing my skin on each stride, these just float away and move with each leg. This lets me think about the run and anything else instead of having the friction from fabric on my mind.
I think this lets me run more and makes runs more enjoyable because of that lessened mental load. It's very bright and yellow, which is great when I'm running. The fabric is very thin and lightweight. It's not quite see through, but something to be mindful of. At this short length of a short, I guess it's not much of a concern for wearers.
I'm going to keep this review short so I can get back out in these shorts and start another run!

Breakaway 2.5”
The breakaway 2.5” short are a great addition to my weekly rotation of running shorts! Currently using them for indoor treadmill running. Super lightweight and breathable material helps contribute to an enjoyable and sweat wicking running experience. The shorts have a slight stretch to them and have not caused any chaffing on the inner thighs. They are definitely short, but true to size. Wash nicely. The color is bright to be expected as shown. I recommend these shorts to enhance your next run!

Lightweight and comfortable
This shorts have been awesome. They are really lightweight and breathable. Ive been using them frequently, I will forsure need to invest in another pair. The black color is flattering with all of my other workout clothes. I can't stress how comfortable these are to run in. The under garment is also very comfortable and flattering with no extreme digging into my skin.

Fantastic Shorts!
These shorts are fantastic! I absolutely love how thin and lightweight the material is, making for easy and comfortable movements. My favorite feature of all with these shorts is the mesh siding. This brings the added benefit of great air flow, and makes the shorts that much more breathable and cool. The length is a little longer than I usually like in athletic shorts, but not a deal breaker in this case.

Perfect design with highest quality and feel
The Brooks Breakaway 2.5" Shorts are perfectly designed for both short and long runs. The shorts are lightweight and breathable. There is no need to wear underwear thanks to the inner lining cleverly designed into these shorts, which enhances the weight benefit and makes a run more comfortable. The bright yellow neon color is great for dusk or night runs. So far, I have only worn these shorts in cold weather, but I look forward to wearing them on runs in the Spring and Summer when they should perform at their best. The material feels high quality, plus the breathable fabric minimizes sweating. Upon first touch, I could feel the highest quality fabric sure to last for many runs ahead. There is also a cleverly hidden pocket on the inside for safe keeping. I highly recommend these Breakaway shorts for optimal comfort while you run.

Feels free, like wearing underwear
These are great. They are so comfortable and lightweight. They sit so naturally on my body and I honestly feel like I’m wearing only underwear. Which is great for physically working out, mentally I sometimes have to check to make sure I really am wearing shorts so that takes getting used to.
The pocket held my key and key remote without reminding me it was there while I was running. Again another very comfortable thing that is just a bit of a different mental experience that I am used to!

Perfect light weight shorts!
I’ve been using my new Brooks running shorts and absolutely love them! They’re lightweight and come with built-in undershorts that provide excellent comfort and support. The fit is perfect, and the fabric feels great even on longer runs. Plus, the color is stunning—stylish and functional all in one! Highly recommend these for anyone looking to upgrade their running gear.

Good fun run short
The Brooks Breakaway short is a great short for warm weather runs. The sides allow a nice breeze while the liner keeps you covered underneath. They stay put during a run with the thick waistband. I feel quite stylish in them, but I wish they were just a little bit longer to prevent a little bit of chafing. I’ll be adding this short to my rotation for some quick runs or trail runs. Overall, I’m pleased with the design, fabric and overall style and function.

Great lightweight short
These are really nice. They’re super lightweight and comfortable, it almost feels like you’re running in underwear. I had a pair from another large name brand that also has the breakaway style, but the cut goes all the way up to the hip which feels a little funny. I am naturally someone with bigger thighs - which have only increased in size since having children. I do like that these are higher cut for freedom of movement with bigger legs, but not so high that it’s like wearing a floppy skirt. They’re soft, light, and airy which is nice to have on runs and walks, as sometimes I feel shorts can ride up the crotch area making it uncomfortable. The fit is fine on the waist, I prefer the banded waistband over the scrunched style. As stated before, the fit on the legs is preferable for me. The colors are fine - I got the yellow highlighter color which is a little see through but I don’t really mind since I don’t wear crazy patterned undies with them. Overall, I’d buy these again. I’m looking forward to having these in my summer rotation of running shorts, since at the time of this review it’s winter time where I live and running in shorts is not an option.

Nice but I can see through
Overall, I really like these shorts. The color is bright and rich, and the shorts are quite short, but in combination with fun color, gives them a very sexy look.
The material is lightweight and feels great on the skin when running, but it’s also quite thin and somewhat see-through. If you’re wearing dark underwear, it will be visible. That’s the only downside. overall, these are great shorts light, comfortable, and fun!
