No. Upper is very flexible and fabric based. sole is very lightweight rubber.

I wear a woman’s size 5 in my running shoes, what size do you think I should order?

I’d get a 4.5 or 4. I wear a women’s 7 usually in Brooks but had to send the 7 back as they were much too big. They are a wide fit (D not B) and felt roomy - the 6 fit perfectly - hope that helps

Are these any good for the average runner or only targeted at better runners. I currently have ghost 13 but looking for a new shoe for longer 1:2 marathon runs?

Hi, I don't think it matters what level runner you are, if you want to improve your running and run further distances, I highly recommend the Hyperion Elites. I agree that they are more expensive than many of the other styles but they are so comfortable, light and bouncy and worth every penny. I still use my Ghosts for my shorter runs but wear the Hyperions for my longer runs.

Are these narrow or wide fitting? Or is the fit true?

I would say they are average width and slightly smaller in length. The issue is the toebox - if you tighten to secure it is too tight on the outer toe due to angle of material. I find this with most running shoes that have built up soles.

My son has a low arch which shoes are best ?

These are great shoes but probably worth consulting a footwear specialist. I have found them a great tempo shoe albeit at the top of the price range.
