The Ghost of season's past is getting some upgrades —see how the new Ghost 16 compares to its predecessor.

The Ghost story

Neutral support, balanced cushioning, and a smooth, easy ride are the hallmarks of the Ghost. Designed to provide reliable everyday comfort, the goal of the Ghost is to be less of a shoe and more of a go-to running companion. As a result, every iteration is grounded using feedback from you – the runner – to improve the shoe even more. And for its sweet 16, the Ghost is back again with some updates you’re sure to love.

What’s staying the same

If you’ve worn the Ghost through multiple generations, you’ll notice the Ghost 16 retains some of the key features you’ve come to know and love:

  • The segmented crash pad promotes smooth landings with each stride
  • The engineered air mesh upper allows comfortable ventilation and a secure yet flexible fit

What’s getting updated

We’ve also made key upgrades to the Ghost this season:

  • Nitrogen-infused DNA LOFT v3 cushioning is even softer and lighter than before
  • The Ghost 16 now weighs 17 grams lighter than the Ghost 15
  • RoadTack rubber on the outsole is durable and resilient — plus it’s made with recycled silica

More about DNA LOFT: Cushion you can count on

DNA LOFT cushioning has come a long way. DNA LOFT v3 takes it to the next level with nitrogen-infused EVA foam for an extra-lightweight feel. But that’s not all — for DNA LOFT v3, we went one step further and undertook large-cell foaming, which amplifies more of the cushioning properties without adding clunkiness. That means you can capitalize on softness and energy return while decreasing weight underfoot.

You can explore more of our shoes that utilize DNA LOFT and other cushion types in our cushion category.
