I love the look of these, the color/pattern is amazing and so eye catching. Especially for trail, I love having as much bright color to help me stand out as possible. All Brooks shoes pack ultimate comfort and while these are comfortable, I would say they are not all day comfortable. They are clearly designed to be stable and sturdy on unsteady ground but for a short (I did 4 miles in these) distance they felt great. The grip on them is next level, even road running the grip felt great, on the trails I didn’t have any sliding so they definitely nailed that.
The fabric is great, very light yet fit snug. I ran in some rain and they dried very quickly, didn’t soak up a bunch of the rain. It also fits nicely to the foot, almost molds to your foot, which is nice because I have issues with running shoes putting the tops of my feet to sleep. These are very easy to manage getting them tight enough but not too tight.
Overall these are great for trail running, I highly recommend. If you don’t need the grip and stability for the trail, I would probably pick something else.
The grippy soles were a standout feature, offering excellent traction even on slick or rocky paths. Whether it was loose gravel or muddy patches, these shoes handled it all with ease.
And let’s talk about the styling: I am obsessed with the bold bright orange and blue accents. They’re absolute head-turners, and I love that they combine functionality with such eye-catching design.
Overall, the Catamount 4 delivered an amazing mix of performance, comfort, and style and are super breathable for warm weather. Whether you're tackling rugged trails or just venturing off the beaten path, these are a fantastic choice!
The sizing runs slightly small. I wear an 8.5 in everyday shoes and a 9 in running shoes, and this pair of size 9s seems to fit a touch smaller than usual. I do think the 9.5 would be too big, so will stick with size 9.
I have been using these for indoor cross-training since It's currently freezing where I live, but I can't wait to try them outside on the trails soon!
