As a short distance runner in a hilly neighborhood, I found these shoes to be light, comfortable, and breathable. The level of support was just right, not too bulky and not at all heavy. I like the design of the shoe—the fade of blue on the sole was a nice touch.
The shoelaces are a bit slippery but double knots do the trick. Overall, highly recommend.

Excellent running shoes for casual or serious runners
These shoes are great. They provide enough support without being heavy or clunky. They are breathable and flexible making them very comfortable. I typically run on the road or a gravel trail and these were perfect for those conditions. I have bad knees and haven’t felt any discomfort or soreness since wearing these shoes. They broke in quickly and are a great fit for me as I get back into running this season.

Trace 4-great running shoes!
Love my new Trace 4 sneakers.
I have been using these shoes during my pregnancy (mostly for walking) and now I use them for running (mostly on the treadmill) and absolutely love how comfortable they are.
They run a little large (i am usually size 9 now and they feel just a bit roomy for me though I prefer them this way so I can wear then with a thicker socks) and shoes' material seems to be very durable. No blisters or any other issues from wearing these shoes.
Overall, great shoes for working out and daily casual wear. Highly recommend!

Trace 4's exceeded expectations!
I got this product for my partner and he couldn't be happier. The Trace 4 exceeded expectations - the sizing is spot on and offers ideal arch support. With the thicker cushion, they are perfect for long distance walks in which we take daily. We have just concluded an international trip where walking 20,000 steps a day was the norm. These were the go to shoe! They are durable and have a fun design that you don't see too often. The perfect shoe.

Cloud-like comfort and good looking!
As someone who enjoys road running and daily training, I was excited to test the Brooks Trace 4 and see how it performs. After several runs on pavement, light trails, and on the treadmill at the gym, I can confidently say this shoe delivers a well-balanced combination of comfort, support, and durability - especially for an entry-level model and at its price point.
Straight out of the box, the Brooks Trace 4 felt incredibly comfortable. Unlike other sneakers, every spot, position, and angle of the shoe was very comfortable. It fits true to size, providing a snug yet flexible feel. The engineered mesh upper is soft, breathable, and adapts well to foot movement without any pressure points. The padded tongue and heel collar add extra comfort, preventing irritation during long runs.
One of the standout features of the Trace 4 is its DNA LOFT cushioning, which provides a soft yet responsive feel. While not as plush as the Ghost or Glycerin models, the cushioning is ideal for runners who want a good balance between comfort and ground feel. It absorbs impact effectively, reducing stress on joints - especially during longer runs or recovery days.
Although it doesn’t have a high-energy return like Hyperion or Levitate, it offers a smooth and stable ride, making it perfect for neutral runners or those transitioning into regular running.
The durable rubber outsole provides excellent traction on both dry and slightly wet surfaces. I tested it on sidewalks, asphalt, and light gravel paths, and it held up well without any slipping. The outsole design includes flex grooves that promote a natural foot movement, enhancing the overall ride quality. After multiple runs, I noticed very little wear on the outsole, suggesting that the Trace 4 will hold up well over time - making it a solid investment for daily wear and training.
As for the look and feel, you can tell that Brooks has come a long way with modern designs and fabrics. Even with a bigger sole and heal drops, the shoe looks sexy and not brick-shaped found in many dad core style sneakers these days. Material seemed pretty stain resistant and durable. Will certainly gravitate towards Brooks sneakers for running and daily comfort.

Great running shoe
Though I've been running for years, I have never owned a pair of Brooks until now, and they have exceeded my expectations! They fit true-to-size and did not require any break-in period. Recently, I've struggled with plantar fasciitis, but the support provided by these shoes relieved the pain and assisted with my recovery while still allowing me to train regularly. The fabric of the shoes provides adequate cushion and support without adding excessive weight. In addition to functionality, these are a good looking pair of shoes. I feel just as confident training in them as I do wearing them out to dinner. I'm looking forward to getting some serious mileage from these shoes, and I'll definitely look to Brooks again for future pair!

My new go to shoe for training
The Trace 4 shoes have proven to be incredibly comfortable for both everyday wear and intense training sessions. Whether I’m running on the road or the treadmill, they provide excellent cushioning, significantly reducing the pressure on my feet with every stride. The shoes are impressively lightweight, making them feel almost weightless and never heavy or cumbersome, even after long runs. What really stands out, though, is the stylish design – they look great and can easily transition from workout gear to casual wear. Overall, the Trace 4s are a perfect balance of performance, comfort, and style."

The vibe is right
First things first, these shoes are comfortable and well-cushioned. The balance in softness and responsiveness is amazing and has been ideal for my daily runs and casual wear. The breathability from the air mesh upper provides a cooling sensation, which I enjoyed. I appreciate the sleek and versatile appearance, which makes it suitable for both workouts and daily wear. Overall, the fit, durability, and light weight structure of the shoes have made them a solid choice for my runs which I have enjoyed. I honestly have no complaints and plan on keeping them in my rotation for a very long time!

Perfection
My son (12) runs cross country and is training in the off season. He has grown 5 inches this year (!) and these Trace 4 Brooks shoes fit him perfectly! He has a very “normal” foot shape, not wide, not narrow, normal arch, and runs with an even stride.
The cushion and response is just right. He has mentioned several times how he doesn’t have to think about his feet while he runs! He can think about breathing or relaxing his shoulders, leaning forward, etc.
Truly, these shoes are perfect for him!
He’s not a fan of super bright, multi colored shoes, which seem to be popular in the running world. The clean black with bright blue looks great.
The fabric seems durable with a few weeks use, but it’s hard to say how it will hold up. Given the rate he is growing, he may not fit them long enough to wear them out!
