Certified Carbon Neutral Product
Certified Carbon Neutral Product
To achieve CarbonNeutral® product certification for this style, we first increased our use of recycled materials to lower carbon emissions, then supported independently verified carbon offsetting projects to neutralize any emissions we can’t yet eliminate.
To keep your Brooks gear looking and performing its best, machine wash separately before wearing, try not to use fabric softeners, and tumble dry on low heat.
Good pouch in the brief that’s supportive but not smashy.
Make em in high visibility.
The basic black was perfect for my style, so I could pair it with my reflective bright tops for night runs. The length was short but not too short. I don’t think I would go shorter, but the length was comfortable.
The fabric was very lightweight. It wasn’t noisy and felt like nothing was there. That was my favorite part-by far. I felt free and not hindered by fabric. I forgot I was wearing them!
I personally wouldn’t change anything about these shorts.
Probably the first thing that I noticed was that the shorts are made from a very comfortable material. The inner liner fits similar to a high quality boxer brief and it provides a little bit of compression. I don’t know what Brooks did with these but these are the kind of shorts you can run a race in. While going on the trail, I did have to pass small boulders and basically put the pants in split position which they survived easily. I could tell they were definitely made to stretch and handle rougher terrain.
The 360-degree pockets can store a lot of gels, keys, trail bars that you could normally need in a race, but I think their size is really limited to small phones. While the pockets felt very secure, putting my large phone in them felt a little awkward. In the rear, it was hard for me to get my fingers into the pockets to get items out too. I think part of it might have been the size. I’m usually between a large and an X-Large and I chose the large here. I think this is one of those scenarios where sizing higher is likely better.
Overall, I definitely would recommend these as race shorts, but I do wish the pockets were more accessible for every day use. These probably will be one of my go to shorts on race day because of the comfort.
