Hansons-Brooks Original Distance Project

Brian Sell Ready to Run in Olympic Men's Marathon

Hanson-Brooks team member Brian Sell's next, and possibly final, date with his long-distance running destiny takes place on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008. The place: Beijing, China. The event: The 2008 Olympic Men's Marathon. For those of us rooting for Brian at home here in the States, NBC will broadcast the Men's Marathon live on Saturday, Aug. 23, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Body paint aside, how else can you show your support for Brian? Well, you can wear a Fu Manchu mustache. Brooks and Flotrack.org have teamed up for a facial hair photo contest called Sell YourSELLf, But enter soon. The contest ends on Aug. 11.

Brooks special-edition T6 Racer created for Olympian Brian Sell, U.S. Men's Marathon team.
The Special-Edition T6 Racer Brian Will Wear
On 08.24.08, when he runs against the world's best marathoners in Beijing, Brian Sell will be wearing a special version of the Brooks T6 Racer, pictured above. All non-mesh overlays were removed from the forefoot to suit Brian's preference for running his marathons with no socks. The shoe's tongue features the American flag and Brian's nickname: "Sellbo." The new T6 will be available for purchase in February 2009.
